On October 21, the first four sets of medals in Greco-Roman wrestling were contested, and the finalists in four other weight categories were determined. On this day, six wrestlers from Kyrgyzstan took to the mat.
Nurbolot Toktogonov participated in the consolation tournament, but his match ended in defeat against a Georgian opponent.
The current Asian champion Nurmanbet Raimaly uulu, unfortunately, also could not advance further, losing in the first match to an Estonian wrestler, who in turn lost in the semifinals. Thus, the Kyrgyz wrestler was eliminated from medal contention.
Wrestlers Nurbolot Berdikulov, Bayaman Karimov, and Yryskeldi Hamzaev started their performances with victories but then suffered defeats in the second round. Their opponents did not reach the finals, and the Kyrgyz wrestlers also lost their chance for medals.
In the final part of the tournament, Kuttubek Abdurazakova competed for bronze against an Egyptian athlete, who is coached by the former coach of the Kyrgyz national team, Azat Erkimbaev. Unfortunately, the Kyrgyz wrestler could not secure a victory and ended up without a medal.
As a result of two days of competition, the Kyrgyz team did not win any medals.
On October 22, finalists will be determined in two weight categories for Greco-Roman wrestling and three for women's wrestling, with four athletes from Kyrgyzstan set to compete.
