Akjol was welcomed with honors in his homeland — in the Osh region. There, the owner of one of the construction companies, Joomart Akjol uulu, handed him the keys to a two-room apartment in the capital.
Makhmudov stated that he did not expect such a gift.
"I did not expect such a big gift. Thank you to the deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh Torobai Zulpuqarov for suggesting to gift me an apartment, and to Joomart Akjol uulu for the gift," Makhmudov said.
He added that he had been living in the capital in a rented apartment.
Kyrgyzstani Greco-Roman wrestler Akjol Makhmudov won a gold medal at the Asian Championship.
Makhmudov competed against Kazakhstani wrestler Demeu Zhadraev in the weight category up to 72 kilograms. The Kazakh earned four points at the beginning of the match, but then the Kyrgyzstani executed a beautiful hip throw and received five points. In the end, Makhmudov finished the bout with a score of 8:6.
The final match between Makhmudov and Zhadraev was the best bout of the second day of the continental championship.
By the way, his throw at the championship was recognized as one of the best.
