On March 13, the solemn opening of the Republican Universiade took place at the Koshomkul Sports Palace.
It is worth noting that such a festive opening ceremony with a large concert program has been held for the fourth time. This year, in accordance with good tradition, the sports holiday for students was held at the highest level. The stage was decorated with hundreds of balloons and flowers, and prominently displayed were the trophies and diplomas that the winners in two leagues would receive.
Everyone congratulated each other on the holiday. Of course, the start of such mass competitions is truly a celebration for students. The seats in the auditorium were allocated by universities, and each group of fans tried to prepare for the event as much as possible, bringing flags and dressing in special uniforms.
The holiday for students - I have been witnessing the opening ceremonies of the Universiades for many years, and in the last four years they have been especially festive, - noted the president of the Student Sports Federation of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sharshen Kassenov, - each time they become more and more solemn! Students attend them with great pleasure. It seems to me that every spectator who came to the hall has already caught the sports spirit. And what a beautiful parade!
It is also encouraging that, thanks to the Ministry of Education and Science, students from Osh, Jalal-Abad, and Batken regions had the opportunity to come to the capital, stay here, and eat. This provided a significant boost, as an impressive delegation was able to come; previously there were financial difficulties, but now they have a wonderful opportunity to meet leading athletes, world champions, who are participating in the Universiade.
It is worth noting that not only participants but also spectators had a wonderful opportunity to see the winners of the World Universiade from Kyrgyzstan. The medalists carried the state flag amid applause from the audience.
The entrance of the participants accompanied by girls in national costumes was also very impressive. After the official part, there was a large concert featuring the dance group "Ulybka" and stars of the domestic stage.
The holiday for students - This year, the Universiade among higher educational institutions of Kyrgyzstan is being held in three leagues, - said Erkinbek Abdildaev, head of the Republican Center "Zhashtyk" and representative of the organizing committee, to a Sport.kg correspondent. - In the top and first leagues, the eight strongest teams compete. Serious teams such as KGTU named after Razakov, the Academy of Physical Culture, the National University named after Jusup Balasagyn, KGUSTA, and the Slavic University are participating in the top league. Osh is represented by the Osh Technical University.
- For the seventh time, "Polytech" becomes the champion of the Universiade, and this year they stated that they have once again prepared excellently for the competitions, - reported Erkinbek Abdildaev, - of course, we will try to reward the multiple champions. Each year, the opening of the Universiade gets better and better, and it is pleasing that more attention is being paid to us by the Minister of Education - Kanat Sydykov. He personally attended the World Universiade in Kazan and expressed a desire for our athletes to participate in world championships among students!

In order to promote physical culture and sports in the everyday life of student youth, and to identify the strongest athletes for participation in republican and international competitions, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic is conducting the Universiade of higher educational institutions from March 26 to April 23, 2015. Students from 36 higher educational institutions will participate in the competitions across 17 sports.
Teams and delegations that place in the overall standings, as well as athletes, will be awarded medals, diplomas, and valuable prizes.
