ORDER OF THE MINISTRY OF CULTURE OF THE USSR "ON THE RESULTS OF THE REVIEW OF SCIENTIFIC WORKS BY STUDENTS OF HIGHER EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS IN FRUNZE IN 1953"
Moscow, December 28, 1953.
Five universities participated in the review of scientific works by students of higher educational institutions in Frunze, presenting 134 works.
There are 128 scientific student circles operating in the universities of the city, with 1,790 students participating.
The number of experimental works in the themes of scientific circles has increased, and there is a growing interest in works on physics and biology.
At the university, students worked on scientific topics, a significant part of which is related to the scientific themes of the departments (physical-mathematical and biological-soil faculties). The works of students from the biological-soil faculty of the university are dedicated to the characteristics of wild medicinal plants of Kyrgyzstan, the agronomy of certain crops, the acclimatization of fur-bearing animals, and the study of feed resources for livestock.
In the past year, several scientific works by students of the university have been published in newspapers and magazines. At the medical institute, 35 student scientific works were published in a collection of 2 printed sheets; at the agricultural institute, a collection of scientific works by students has been prepared for publication.
At the same time, there are significant shortcomings in the scientific work of students. Not all scientific workers participate in guiding students' scientific research: the themes of students' scientific works are not always related to the plans of the departments. Scientific circles have not been established at some departments of the medical and agricultural institutes.
Emphasizing the importance of involving students in scientific research work, I order:
1. The directors of higher educational institutions to assist in every way the development of scientific research work by students.
2. For the best scientific works presented at the review of scientific works by students of higher educational institutions in Frunze, to award:
a) a monetary prize of 300 rubles and a certificate from the Main Administration of Higher Education of the Ministry of Culture of the USSR to student A. I. Goncharov of Kyrgyz State University for the work "Brief Characteristics of the Vegetation of the Pastures of the Tamchi State Farm in the Issyk-Kul Region";
b) a monetary prize of 200 rubles and a certificate from the Main Administration of Higher Education of the Ministry of Culture of the USSR to students A. A. Aitbaev and A. I. Imanaliev of the Kyrgyz Agricultural Institute named after K. I. Skryabin for the work "Comparative Effect of Infusions of Talas and Round-leaved Aconites on Different Species of Animals";
c) a certificate from the Main Administration of Higher Education of the Ministry of Culture of the USSR to the following students...
