Placement of Evacuated Educational Institutions from the Frontline Zone in Frunze. Document No. 133 (February 1942)

FROM THE REPORT OF THE COUNCIL OF MINISTERS OF THE KYRGYZ SSR TO THE COUNCIL OF MINISTERS OF THE USSR ON THE PLACEMENT OF EVACUATED EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS FROM THE FRONTLINE ZONE

... 3. The Kharkov Veterinary Institute was incorporated into the Kyrgyz Agricultural Institute. The evacuation of the Kharkov Veterinary Institute was disorganized - students arrived at different times in small groups of 3-7 people. A total of 53 students arrived, including 35 fourth-year students, 12 third-year students, and 6 second-year students. All incoming students were assigned to groups in the veterinary faculty of the Kyrgyz Agricultural Institute along with the main contingent of students, provided with dormitories and bedding.
Among the teaching staff, mainly assistants arrived, who, according to the directive of the Main Directorate of Higher Education of the USSR Ministry of Agriculture, were assigned to work in their specialty by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz SSR. The Kyrgyz Agricultural Institute enrolled 1 professor, 1 candidate of veterinary sciences, 1 associate professor, and 1 assistant.
Teachers were provided with housing and necessary furnishings.
The equipment of the Kharkov Veterinary Institute arrived in two wagons, which the Kyrgyz Agricultural Institute accepted for storage, with the right to use, and distributed among the existing departments of surgery, therapy, epizootiology, parasitology, obstetrics, pharmacology, physiology, and other departments.
In addition, the Kyrgyz Agricultural Institute accepted part of the equipment from the Kharkov Veterinary Institute of Experimental Veterinary Medicine, which also arrived in Frunze, and this was distributed among the institute's departments.
4. The Mykolaiv Shipbuilding Institute, with a student body of 212 people and a teaching staff and service personnel of 80 people, was located in Przhevalsk. The premises of the regional collective farm school and the OSO school were allocated for student dormitories.
Classes will take place in the premises of the agricultural technical school in the second shift. Classes will begin on February 1, 1942.
The Second Kharkov Medical Institute and the Kharkov Dental Institute were integrated into the Kyrgyz Medical Institute. The number of students from the Second Kharkov Medical Institute is 285, and from the Dental Institute - 95.
The teaching staff consists of 36 people, including 2 honored figures in science, 11 professors, 4 associate professors, and 12 assistants.
As a result of the merger of the aforementioned educational institutions of the Ministry of Health, the fourth year of the Kyrgyz Medical Institute was opened, and 10 new departments were organized within it.
Along with the Second Kharkov Medical Institute, various educational and economic equipment arrived in a total of 2.5 wagons. The Dental Institute brought various equipment in a total of two wagons.
The equipment from the Second Kharkov Medical Institute was fully utilized in the existing departments.
The equipment from the Dental Institute was distributed among the departments of the Kyrgyz Medical Institute. Some specialized equipment from the Dental Institute for both surgery and prosthetic dentistry was transferred to hospitals for organized jaw departments.
Students from the mentioned institutes were accommodated in the dormitories of the Kyrgyz Medical Institute.
