FROM THE TRANSCRIPT OF THE SPEECH BY THE DIRECTOR OF THE KYRGYZ AGRICULTURAL INSTITUTE NAMED AFTER K. I. SKRYABIN KHUDAYBERGENOV AT A MEETING OF THE BUREAU OF THE FRUNZE CITY COMMITTEE OF THE COMMUNIST PARTY OF KYRGYZSTAN

The Kyrgyz Agricultural Institute has been in existence since 1933. Over the years, it has graduated 1,637 agricultural specialists, including 248 Kyrgyz, among them: 399 agronomists, 138 silk specialists, 350 animal husbandry specialists, 709 veterinarians, 41 hydraulic engineers.
In the past year of 1954, the institute graduated 193 specialists, including 48 Kyrgyz.
Currently, 346 individuals are preparing to graduate, including: 57 veterinarians, 48 agronomists, 21 silk specialists, 47 animal husbandry specialists, 38 hydraulic engineers, and 35 agricultural mechanical engineers. Of the total number of graduates, 76 are Kyrgyz, and there are 10 members and candidates of the CPSU. Currently, the student body of the institute consists of 1,391 individuals, including 582 Kyrgyz, of whom 75 are Kyrgyz girls. There are 175 individuals studying in the correspondence department.
The staff of scientific workers at the institute consists of 137 individuals, including: 9 professors with doctoral degrees, 47 associate professors with candidate degrees, and 84 lecturers and assistants. This staff fully ensures the training of highly qualified specialists for the agriculture of the republic....
In the past year, in the field of scientific work, the scientific workers of the institute have achieved new successes. This year, 6 communists defended their dissertations, including 1 doctoral and 5 candidate dissertations. Communists Osadchiy, Petrashevskaya, Muzhikov are nearing completion of their doctoral dissertations, and Sukhareva, Dzhailov, and Junushbekov are completing their candidate dissertations. Significant scientific work is being carried out by Prof. Volkova, Prof. Pankratov, Associate Professor Enikeev, Associate Professor Lushchikhin, Associate Professor Mukhsinov, and others.
Alongside the study of individual problems, the scientific workers of the institute provide significant assistance to production.
Associate Professor Lushchikhin conducted seminars with animal husbandry specialists from the Kant and Ivanov districts over the past year, assisting them in the evaluation of sheep. Associate Professors Osadchiy and Poltoratskiy held several meetings with agronomists from the Kant and Ivanov MTS on soil cultivation methods according to T. S. Maltsev's method. Senior lecturer Comrade Kuznetsov, in collaboration with workers from the Pokrov MTS, developed a new design for a seeder for square-nesting planting of sugar beets. Senior lecturer Comrade Yakovlev, on behalf of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Kyrgyzstan, will prepare prospective five-year plans in several collective farms in the Issyk-Kul region; workers from the department of social organization of agricultural enterprises organized the compilation of over 50 annual production financial plans for the collective farms of the Frunze region with the help of students.
