Mambetov Tsurbolon

Mambetov Tsurbolon (1931-1970),
Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (1955)
Kyrgyz. Born in the village of Eki Naryn in the Tian Shan region of Naryn Province.
Graduated from the Physics Department of KGU (1952). Worked as a lecturer at KGU, senior researcher at the Institute of Nuclear Physics of the Academy of Sciences of the Uzbek SSR, and head of the laboratory at the Institute of Physics and Mathematics of the Academy of Sciences of the Kirghiz SSR. Specialist in the field of nuclear physics.
The phenomenon of intense electron emission he discovered during the dehydration of sodium crystallohydrate (Na2SO4 · 10 H2O) is known as the "Mambetov effect" (Chemistry and Life, No. 5, (1970)).
Published more than 70 scientific works, including the first textbook on nuclear physics in the Kyrgyz language.
Under his supervision, 3 candidate dissertations were defended.
Main works:
1. Investigation of the gas discharge phenomenon in sodium sulfate crystals. Proceedings of the USSR Academy of Sciences, 171, No. 1, 1966.
2. Stimulated photoemission of NaCl crystal by gas discharge. Journal of Technical Physics, No. 6, 1967.
3. Investigation of the gas discharge phenomenon during the disruption of adhesive bonds. Proceedings of the USSR Academy of Sciences, 180, No. 3, 1968.
4. The phenomenon of electrical discharges in sodium sulfate crystals. Colloid Journal of the USSR Academy of Sciences, 30, No. 4, 1968.
5. Elementary Nuclear Physics (textbook for university students, in Kyrgyz). Frunze, "Mektep", 1969.
The defense of the doctoral dissertation "Electrical Phenomena in Adhesive and Cohesive Destruction of Solids" (Moscow, 1969), announced at the Institute of Physical Chemistry of the USSR Academy of Sciences, did not take place due to the tragic death of the author (20 days before the defense).
