The concept of the opening ceremony of the First World Nomad Games is based on the idea of showcasing the history of nomadic peoples from mythology to the present day.
The opening ceremony was attended by the President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev, the President of the Republic of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov, the Foreign Minister of Malaysia Anifah Aman, the Minister of Youth and Sports of Qatar Salah bin Ghanim Al-Ali, the head of Gazprom Alexey Miller, representatives of the Council of Elders (aksakals) of Turkic-speaking states, as well as public figures.
The opening ceremony of the games was broadcast live on the channels OTRK, ElTR, TRK "MIR", 5 Channel, NTS, TRT AVAZ (Turkey), as well as regional TRKs.
The World Nomad Games are analogous to the Olympic, Asian, and Paralympic Games, aimed at promoting traditional and national games of nomadic peoples.
