In Kyrgyzstan, Nowruz is celebrated

The mayor Kubanychbek Kulmatov congratulated the residents of Bishkek at Ala-Too Square. Currently, festive celebrations are taking place in the city.
The heads of state from Central Asia and Afghanistan congratulated President Almazbek Atambayev and the people of Kyrgyzstan on the holiday.
Kazakhstan's President Nursultan Nazarbayev expressed confidence that the relations between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, based on friendship and mutual understanding, will continue to strengthen for the benefit of our peoples.
Uzbekistan's President Islam Karimov noted that for centuries, Nauryz has vividly symbolized the awakening and renewal of nature, embodies the purity of thoughts and the creative spirit of neighboring peoples, their unique cultural identity, and contributes to strengthening deep traditions of good neighborliness and mutual respect.
Afghanistan's President Ashraf Ghani expressed hope that the coming New Year would bring even greater development of friendly and brotherly relations between the two countries, as well as peace and tranquility.
The Nauryz holiday is also special for Kyrgyz citizens living or working abroad. For instance, in one of the cafes in Moscow, Kyrgyz people prepared sumolek. A group of Kyrgyz people organized an event on Facebook to ensure that national traditions are not forgotten. "Even if we are far away, we should not forget our traditions," said one of the organizers, Busurman Kul Shakirov.
Nauryz is the New Year holiday according to the astronomical solar calendar among Iranian and Turkic peoples. Nauryz is a national tradition. The origins of this holiday trace back to the pre-literate era of human history. In modern times, it is celebrated on the days that coincide with the spring equinox.
