Today, May 9, the Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic, Temir Sariev, participated in events dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

The head of the Government honored the memory of those who fell during the Great Patriotic War, laying a wreath at the Eternal Flame in Victory Square in Bishkek.

The event was also attended by veterans of the Great Patriotic War, rear workers, labor veterans, Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh of the KR Asylbek Jeenbekov, Chairwoman of the Supreme Court of the KR Feruza Jamasheva, Head of the President's Office Daniyar Narymbaev, and Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the KR Asanbek Alimkojoev, members of the Government of the KR, as well as representatives of the diplomatic corps.

In addition, the Prime Minister participated in the military parade in Ala-Too Square.
Speaking during the event, Temir Sariev noted that events dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War are taking place in every corner of the country. “The main goal of these events is to pay tribute to our fathers and grandfathers, who overcame all the hardships of the bloody war, thanks to whom we gained freedom and a happy life. We must not forget their feats and courage,” he said.

“Victory Day is a special day that determined the fate of all humanity. The people of Kyrgyzstan, like all other fraternal nations, made a huge contribution to the common victory. Hundreds of thousands of compatriots died as heroes, fighting for our freedom and independence. The heroic feats of tens of thousands of Kyrgyzstanis, the incredible labor of those who, without sleep and food, forged the Great Victory in the rear, will forever remain an example of true heroism for the sake and benefit of the Motherland. Their names will forever remain in history,” emphasized Temir Sariev.

The Prime Minister congratulated the veterans of the Great Patriotic War and rear workers on the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory and wished them good health and well-being, vigor and optimism, and success in raising the younger generation on the traditions of faithful and selfless service to Kyrgyzstan. “Thank you for the life you have given us. Thank you for the peace on earth,” concluded the Head of the Government.

After the military parade, the Prime Minister met with veterans of the Great Patriotic War and rear workers in field tents, tasted “soldier's porridge” with them, and congratulated them on Victory Day.
