Today, November 24, during a meeting of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic, the second item on the agenda was the consideration of the draft resolution "On the progress of the Action Plan for 2014-2015 in preparation for the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 based on the results of the first half of 2014."
Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Joomart Otorbaev noted that the Government has developed specific actions for the implementation of the Plan for the preparation for the celebration of the 70th anniversary of Victory. "At the last summit of the heads of CIS states held in Minsk, a decision was made to declare 2015 the Year of Veterans of the Great Patriotic War. President Almazbek Atambayev signed a decree 'On the establishment of an additional allowance to the lifetime scholarship of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic for veterans of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.' The allowance is set at 3,000 soms. All regions and involved state bodies must timely and responsibly carry out the planned activities as part of the celebration of the 70th anniversary of Victory. We will never forget the heroism and bravery of our veterans," said J. Otorbaev.
Next, Minister of Social Development of the Kyrgyz Republic Kudaybergen Bazarbaev reported on the results of work and preparation for the celebration of the anniversary of Victory.
According to the minister, there are currently only 1,261 veterans of the Great Patriotic War in Kyrgyzstan. "With each passing year, the ranks of our veterans are thinning. This year alone, 283 veterans have passed away. The government, through the Ministry of Social Development, provides ongoing financial support to veterans. As part of the preparation for the 70th anniversary of Victory, it is proposed to increase the amount of the annual additional one-time cash allowance for veterans of the Great Patriotic War," said the minister. He also added that there are plans to reissue the book "8th Guards Motor Rifle Division named after I.V. Panfilov." This book was published 20 years ago.
K. Bazarbaev reported that in honor of the 100th anniversary of I. Panfilov, a marathon is planned to establish a monument to the hero of the Soviet Union.
Deputy Minister of Defense Zamir Suerkulov noted that preparatory work is underway for the military parade to be held in Ala-Too Square. "Also, in honor of the 70th anniversary of Victory, commemorative medals will be issued. We plan to open a museum of the armed forces. By the end of the year, a list of veterans will be prepared for participation in the military parade on Red Square in Moscow," said the deputy minister.
According to Finance Minister Olga Lavrova, up to 1 billion soms are allocated annually from the state budget to support veterans. "Certain funds have been allocated in the budgets for the celebration of the 70th anniversary of Victory," she said.
After listening to the reports from the heads of state bodies, the Prime Minister instructed the Government's Authorized Representatives in the regions and relevant state bodies to effectively and timely implement the activities outlined in the Action Plan for the preparation and celebration of the 70th anniversary of Victory.
As part of the celebration of the 70th anniversary of Victory, scientific and practical conferences, exhibitions and festivals, meetings with war heroes, international sports competitions, and tournaments will take place.
