Russian. Graduated from Leningrad State University (Leningrad, 1971). Worked as an editor at the publishing house "Kyrgyzstan," senior editor in the Fiction Literature department, head of the literature and art department at the newspaper "Soviet Kyrgyzstan," responsible secretary, head of the literary criticism department at the magazine "Literary Kyrgyzstan," and since 1993 - engaged in teaching at BGU.

Specialist in the field of philology. Published over 300 scientific works, including 5 books.
