Russian. Born in the village of Volkota, Andreapol District, Tver Region.
Graduated from Leningrad Mining Institute (1962), KSU (1968), postgraduate studies at the Institute of Physics and Mechanics of the Academy of Sciences of the Kirghiz SSR (1967).
Worked as a junior researcher, head of the laboratory, director of the Institute of Physics and Mechanics of the Academy of Sciences of the Kirghiz SSR, professor at KGMU.
Specialist in the mechanics of rock masses.
Published more than 80 scientific works, including 2 monographs.
Under his supervision, 5 candidate dissertations have been defended.
