Complete schedule of events for May 9, 2018, in Kyrgyzstan
Events dedicated to the 73rd anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War will be held in all districts of the capital.
On Victory Day, May 9, Bishkek will host many festive events, the press service of the mayor's office reported.
In anticipation of the holiday, 20 thematic banners will appear on the central streets of the capital.
In all educational institutions of the city, class hours, open lessons, meetings with veterans of the Great Patriotic War, and exhibitions of drawings dedicated to the 73rd anniversary of Victory are already being held.
The main festive events will take place on May 9 at Victory Square. They will start at 10:00 and will consist of three blocks:
— a memorial meeting with the laying of flowers at the Eternal Flame and a march of servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic;
— traditional serving of soldier's porridge (organized in cooperation with the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic);
— concert program.
The culmination of the celebration will be a fireworks display, which will start at 22:00.
On the same day, at 9:00, the "Immortal Regiment" action will begin. Participants of the march will walk from the Southern Highway along Baytik Baatyr/Akhunbaev Street to Victory Square.
Events dedicated to the celebration of Victory in the Great Patriotic War will also be organized in all districts of the capital.
In the Oktyabrsky district, celebrations will be held on May 7 in the Victory Park named after D. Asanov. They will start at 9:00.
In the Pervomaysky district, a memorial meeting will begin on May 7 at 10:00 at the brotherly cemetery.
In the Leninsky district, a memorial meeting and wreath-laying will take place on May 9 at 8:00 near the monument to fallen soldiers on Young Guard Avenue.
In all schools of the Sverdlovsky district, open lessons, exhibitions of drawings, and meetings with veterans on the topic "Patriotism and Internationalism" will be held.
The Department of Social Development of the mayor's office will organize a screening of the military-patriotic play "Salute, Victory!" for veterans on May 9 at 14:00 at the Children's Musical Theater "Taberik." Additionally, a one-time financial assistance of 11.4 million soms will be provided to them from the local budget.
