By September 1, 23 schools will be completed in Kyrgyzstan, as reported by the Minister of Education and Science Kanat Sadykov during a meeting with the country's president Almazbek Atambayev.
According to him, in the new 2014-2015 academic year, there will be 2,204 schools operating in the country, serving more than 1 million students, and 927 preschool institutions serving 132,500 children.
Sadykov also reported that this year it is planned to complete the construction of 56 educational facilities, 23 of which will be commissioned by September 1.
The president and the minister also discussed the implementation of the optimization of the higher education system. Almazbek Atambayev noted that the main priorities of the reform of the higher education system should be improving the quality of education and eradicating corruption in the country's higher educational institutions.
