On October 22, the Minister of Education Dogdurkul Kendirbaeva held a meeting with the Ambassador of France to Kyrgyzstan Nicolas Fay.

According to the press service of the ministry, the discussion focused on possible areas for cooperation in the field of school and initial vocational education.

During the meeting, the ambassador expressed interest in improving the teaching of the French language in general educational institutions in Kyrgyzstan and suggested considering the option of adding additional hours for studying this language in the curricula.

The minister noted that there are schools in the country with a humanitarian and linguistic focus where French could be introduced as an elective subject. However, it is necessary to first develop an educational and methodological complex adapted to the peculiarities of the Kyrgyz educational system.

In addition, the Ministry of Education proposed to expand cooperation in the field of initial vocational education, particularly through the introduction of short courses in French cuisine and training for tourist guides in vocational institutions.

The parties agreed to create a working group that will develop an educational and methodological program for the French language and discuss further steps for implementing joint educational initiatives.
