Electricity shortage in winter: the president urged the population to endure for another 2.5 years

“God willing, in 2.5 years we will no longer import electricity in winter”

At the official launch of the “Kara-Kul” hydropower plant in the Jalal-Abad region, President Sadyr Japarov urged the population to be patient amid the electricity shortage in winter.

He noted that after the completion of nearly 40 hydropower plants, as well as a new thermal power plant in Kara-Keche, the country will be able to fully meet its winter electricity needs. “God willing, in 2.5 years we will no longer import electricity. The production we establish will be sufficient for our needs,” Japarov said.

In addition, the president emphasized that in recent years the state has been actively developing “green energy.” According to him, favorable conditions have been created for investors: stable policies, a transparent and fair environment, as well as mutual trust in relationships.
