Agreement with China: A 250 Megawatt Solar Power Plant Will Be Built in Kyrgyzstan

At the international forum taking place in Suzhou, the Ministry of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic signed an investment agreement with Chinese companies for the construction of a solar power plant with a capacity of 250 megawatts. This information was announced by the press service of the Ministry of Energy.

The document was signed by the Minister of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic, Taalaibek Ibraev, the president of States Technology Co., Limited, Liu Fernando Oscar, and the general director of San Energy Co., Liu Yungze.

The project involves the creation of a power plant on an area of 669.3 hectares in the village of Ak-Turpak, located in the Batken region. Construction is planned for this year, with completion and commissioning scheduled for 2027. After launch, the station will supply electricity to the Open Joint Stock Company "National Electric Networks of Kyrgyzstan" (NESC), which will provide electricity to local residents.

In addition, within the framework of the forum, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Ministry of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Chinese company POWERCHINA. This document aims to attract international investors, deepen cooperation in the energy sector, develop prospective plans for the energy system, train specialists, and explore the possibilities of creating floating solar power plants on the Toktogul Reservoir.

POWERCHINA is one of the leading Chinese and international companies providing a wide range of services in the construction and operation of facilities in the fields of hydropower, electricity, and renewable energy sources.
