The Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan signed an investment agreement with two Chinese companies for the construction of a solar power plant.

At the International Forum held in the Chinese city of Suzhou, an Investment Agreement was signed between the Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan and two companies: "States Technology Co., Limited" and "San Energy Co.". Under this agreement, the construction of a 250 MW solar power plant in Kyrgyzstan is planned.
The document was signed on behalf of the Ministry of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic by Minister Taalaybek Ibraev, and on behalf of the companies by the President of "States Technology Co., Limited" Liu Fernando Oscar and the General Director of "San Energy Co." Liu Yungze.
The construction of the solar power plant, covering an area of 669.3 hectares in the village of Ak-Turpak, is scheduled for 2025, with an expected commissioning in 2027. This project will provide electricity to the residents of the Ak-Turpak rural district, and the generated electricity will be purchased by the Open Joint Stock Company "National Electric Networks of Kyrgyzstan" (NESC).
Additionally, as part of the cooperation between the Ministry of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic, represented by the General Director of NESC I. Sydygaliev and the General Director of the "Directorate of Constructed Power Plants" R. Kasymov, and the Chinese company POWER CONSTRUCTION CORPORATION OF CHINA (POWERCHINA), a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed.
This Memorandum aims to attract international investors and financial institutions to support projects, deepen cooperation, and jointly implement initiatives. It also includes conducting research and developing prospective plans for the energy system, training specialists in the energy sector, and exploring opportunities for constructing floating solar power plants on the Toktogul Reservoir.
It is worth noting that POWERCHINA is one of the leading Chinese and international companies providing comprehensive services in the planning, design, construction, and operation of facilities in the fields of hydropower, electric power, and renewable energy sources.
