A tender for the construction of the power transmission line "Tamga - Karakol," which will have a capacity of 220 kW, will be launched soon. This was announced by the Minister of Energy Talaybek Ibraev on the air of Birinchi Radio.

Ibraev noted that funding has already been secured — an agreement has been signed with the Islamic Bank, and consultants are currently working on preparing the necessary materials.

“We have signed a contract with the Islamic Bank for the implementation of the project to construct the line 'Tamga - Karakol.' During the construction of 'Kumtor,' a 220 kW line was laid from Balykchy to Tamga, and now we plan to extend it to Karakol, which will be about 90 km,” said the minister.

Financial issues have been resolved with the Islamic Bank, and consultants are already preparing the tender documentation. After that, the competition will be announced, and construction will begin. It is also worth noting that the construction of the tourist ski base "Ala-Tuu Resort" has already begun, which in the future will require up to 78 MW of electricity. Moreover, the completion of the road from Tup to Kegen to the border with Kazakhstan opens new prospects for tourism in the region, as this place attracts a large number of tourists in the summer,” added Ibraev.

The minister emphasized that in the future, Karakol, as well as the Ak-Suu and Tyup districts, will become centers of tourist activity in the Issyk-Kul region.
