The First Deputy Chief Architect of Bishkek, Aziret Azimov, reported on "Birinchi Radio" that there have been changes in the red lines of several roads in the updated general plan of the city, which were established during the Soviet era.

He emphasized that after the approval of the new general plan, it will be necessary to develop two key documents within six months: the Land Use and Development Rules, as well as the Detailed Planning Rules, which will clarify the red and green lines. These documents will play an important role in the implementation of the general plan.

Azimov noted that one of the distinguishing features of the new general plan is the addition of new main roads, as well as a revision of the sizes of red lines in certain areas.

“We will designate new main streets, but secondary streets are not planned to be indicated. I want to point out that some red lines with widths ranging from 120 to 180 meters, established during the Soviet period, have been recognized as unjustified and revised,” he added.

It should be noted that the city hall presented the main provisions of the Bishkek general plan project until 2050. Public discussions are scheduled for December 24-25. Details about the changes can be found in the material linked.
