
The development of this document has been carried out by the Research Institute of Prospective Urban Development from St. Petersburg. The team of authors includes Mayor Aibek Junushaliev, his deputy Azamat Kadyrov, and other specialists.
The general plan project is being created in accordance with the directive of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The general plan is an important strategic document that defines the long-term development of the city. It aims to strengthen Bishkek's position as a financial and logistics center of Central Asia, diversify the economy, and create a comfortable urban environment.
In developing the general plan up to 2050, a model of a sustainable urban development system has been used, which involves making management decisions based on comprehensive design of urban planning documents, including territorial planning, urban zoning, and detailed planning. The developers are confident that this approach will ensure the sustainable development of the city.
Among the initiatives provided for in the general plan are the creation of a Fashion cluster based on existing and new textile industries, the implementation of the "Jewelry Valley" project, attracting investments and specialists to the IT sector, as well as the development of creative hubs.
Additionally, the municipality guarantees the preservation of historical and cultural heritage and the unique appearance of the urban environment.
