Today, October 28, 2014, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Almazbek Atambayev, met with representatives of the Council of Elders (aksakals) of Turkic-speaking countries.
During the meeting, various issues of cooperation between the Turkic world countries in the cultural and humanitarian sphere were discussed, as well as plans for further interaction in the preservation and development of the cultural heritage of the member states of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking countries.
The Head of State was also informed about the results of the VIII meeting of the Council of Elders of Turkic-speaking countries, which took place in Bishkek. President Almazbek Atambayev and representatives of the Council of Elders of Turkic-speaking countries discussed the outcomes of the I World Nomad Games held in Kyrgyzstan, noting their significant contribution to the development of intercultural dialogue between the countries of the Turkic world.
President Almazbek Atambayev emphasized the importance of further deepening and expanding cultural exchanges between the countries of the Turkic world.
The meeting was attended by the Secretary General of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking Countries Ramil Hasanov, Deputy Secretary General of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking countries Adakhan Madumarov, a member of the Council of Elders from the Republic of Kazakhstan Adil Akhmetov, a member of the Council of Elders from the Republic of Azerbaijan Fattah Heydarov, a member of the Council of Elders from the Kyrgyz Republic Beksultan Zhakiev, as well as the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to the Kyrgyz Republic Metin Kılıç.
