Business Immigration and Freelance Professions in Germany

Business immigration to Germany involves two types of activities. The first is entrepreneurship, and the second is self-employment, where a highly qualified professional works for themselves. In German legislation, this is referred to as a freiberufler or freelance worker. This is not a freelancer – a freiberufler is a certified specialist with a registered legal entity. They are not considered an entrepreneur and do not pay business tax, although they can hire assistants. Such professions include consultants, educators, translators, writers, psychologists, dietitians, lawyers, dentists, and others.

Marriage Immigration to Germany

This is the easiest way to immigrate, which does not require a good knowledge of the German language, substantial bank accounts, higher education, or high qualifications. For marriage immigration, it is necessary to obtain a special fiancé/fiancée visa – this visa is required for entry into the country and for marrying a citizen or resident of the country. After this, it is possible to obtain a residence permit and citizenship after 3 years of living in Germany without any issues. The downside of this type of immigration is the large number of bureaucratic obstacles that prevent the conclusion of a sham marriage. If the immigration service discovers that the marriage is fraudulent, the fraudster will be deported from the country. A feature of German legislation is that same-sex marriages are legalized in Germany.

Requirements for a Marriage Visa

No registered or civil marriage;
No familial relationship with the future spouse;

To immigrate to a close person, it is necessary to prove the family ties with them using birth certificates, marriage certificates, and other documents. After obtaining a visa and entering the country, the candidate receives a residence permit.
