Mikhailov Leonid Pavlovich
Laureate of the State Prize of the USSR in the field of science and technology. Born in 1927. In 1950, he graduated from the Kazakh Mining and Metallurgical Institute.
A prominent specialist in the field of hydrometallurgy of radioactive, rare, and noble metals. One of the authors and developers of the method of underground leaching of rare metals. Under his leadership, a technology for the production of nuclear-grade molybdenum was developed in Kyrgyzstan, which was exported to the USA, Germany, Norway, and Japan.
Included in the International Encyclopedia “Geologists and Mining Engineers of Russia,” published in 2000 under the editorship of Academician N.P. Laverev.
Awarded the Order of the “Badge of Honor,” medals of the USSR, and distinctions of the GDR “Master of Labor in Silver,” “Master of Labor in Gold,” and the gold pin of the DSF.
Published over 100 scientific works, most of which were classified as top secret, author of 33 inventions, most of which have been implemented in production at defense industry enterprises.
