Permits and Licenses
Permits for hunting in Kyrgyzstan are arranged in advance by the hunting organizers. For this, organizers need to provide the following information.
• Make of the weapon;
• Caliber;
• Caliber and numbers of additional barrels, if they are interchangeable;
• Number of cartridges of each caliber that will be brought to Kyrgyzstan (the actual number of cartridges brought must always match the number declared for import, otherwise there may be many unnecessary questions);
• Passport details of the person you will arrive with;
• Your registration details.
Next, the receiving party arranges the permit for the import of weapons, a license for hunting the ordered animal, and passes to the border zone (if necessary).
After these documents are prepared, they are sent in scanned form to the hunter, who shows them upon entering Kyrgyzstan; as a rule, the receiving party has the originals already at the airport when meeting the hunter and can present them if necessary.
When departing from Manas Airport, the hunter is given the originals of all documents.
• License for hunting the animal (Ibex, Marco Polo)
• Veterinary certificate (Wolf)
• CITES (for Marco Polo Sheep) is arranged through Moscow, which takes several days.
For this reason, often the head of the Marco Polo sheep cannot be taken immediately by the hunter and is sent later after receiving the CITES certificate in Moscow.
