Kyrgyz citizens flying to South Korea are prohibited from bringing meat and dairy products
The Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency of South Korea has imposed a ban on the import of certain types of products into Korea since June 1, 2019.
According to the Embassy of South Korea in Kyrgyzstan, the ban has been introduced as part of measures aimed at preventing the emergence of African swine fever and avian influenza in Korea.
List of prohibited products:
— meat and meat products: beef, pork, chicken, ham, sausages, salami, dried meat, cooked meat, canned goods, etc.;
— animal products: antlers, bones, feathers, etc.;
— dairy products: milk, cheese, butter, etc.;
— eggs and egg products: chicken and bird eggs, egg whites, egg powder, etc.;
— pet food, snacks, food additives, etc.
In case of an attempt to illegally import the above-mentioned products into Korea, a fine of up to 5 million Korean won will be imposed (1$ = 1155.57 won).
Failure to pay the fine will result in a ban on re-entry into the country for a period of 5 years.
