South Korea to Make a Film About Manas
The National Commission of the Kyrgyz Republic for UNESCO is starting the implementation of a joint project with the Asia-Pacific International Information Center for Intangible Cultural Heritage under the auspices of UNESCO (South Korea) for the documentation of intangible cultural heritage. This was reported by the secretariat of the National Commission of the Kyrgyz Republic for UNESCO.
It is noted that within the framework of the project, a seminar is taking place where experts from South Korea, including Professor Oh Jong Ok from the Seoul Institute of the Arts and producer Choi Sang-il from Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation (Culture), share their experiences in documenting cultural heritage with national experts.
It is mentioned that the inclusion of the Kyrgyz epic trilogy "Manas. Semetey. Seytek" in the UNESCO representative list of intangible cultural heritage has sparked interest from the international community.
It is reported that as part of the project, joint documentary filming of a short film based on the epic trilogy "Manas. Semetey. Seytek" will take place, which will be broadcast on major television channels in South Korea.
"South Korean experts, together with manaschy, will conduct filming at the national complex 'Manas Ordo' in the Talas region. Experts from the National Commission of the Kyrgyz Republic for UNESCO, the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic, cultural foundations, as well as manaschy are participating in the project," the statement said.
