A memorandum on the organization of financing for the acquisition of buses for the needs of the city of Bishkek was signed in Kyrgyzstan on December 25
The Prime Minister of the republic, Sapar Isakov, stated that the new transport will be launched in the capital by the end of spring 2018. The head of the Cabinet particularly noted that the buses will run on gas, which will significantly reduce harmful emissions into the air. According to Isakov, the implementation of the document will benefit not only the ecology of the capital but also improve the traffic situation in Bishkek. This was reported by the press service of the Government to the online radio "Voice of the CIS".
According to the plans, in the first phase, 350 buses will be purchased for the needs of the city center. The minibuses currently transporting people in the central part will be transferred to the outskirts.
The Prime Minister noted that the new buses will be equipped with access points for wireless Internet usage, and an electronic ticketing system will also be implemented.
The head of Bishkek, Albek Ibraimov, added that the capital decided to adopt the experience of Russia and implement the aforementioned fare payment system, making it more convenient for citizens and easier for authorities to control the volume of incoming funds.
