Otorbaev thanked Eurobankers for 457 million euros
The head of the cabinet, Joomart Otorbaev, met today in Warsaw with the president of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Mr. Suma Chakrabarti, and his colleagues.
He thanked the EBRD for the assistance provided in the socio-economic development of the Kyrgyz Republic, noting in particular that since 1995, the bank has approved 111 projects totaling over 457 million euros.
The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation in the development of the private sector in our country, as well as in the framework of infrastructure projects in energy and transportation systems. Additionally, he highlighted the necessity of cooperation with European partners within the process of Kyrgyzstan's entry into the Customs Union.
For his part, Suma Chakrabarti reported a significant increase in investment in the Kyrgyz Republic.
- Our decision is driven by several factors, - he said. - Kyrgyzstan is experiencing dynamic economic growth, there is an active fight against corruption, democracy is developing steadily, and coordination from the government is improving, which works very professionally with development partners.
