Status: VU. This rare deciduous shrub species is endemic to the Fergana and Alai Mountain Ranges, one of three congeners in the country, ornamental plant. It populates motley sandy and clayey soils at red speckled sandstones and conglomerates, in the piedmont zone. Period of flowering: May - June, fruiting in June - July; propagation is generative and very seldom vegetative. There is no information about number and cultivation. Area of occupancy is declining due to economic development of lands (main limiting factor), mass collection (damaging) of flowering plants. This plant is included in the Red Book of the country in 1985, but the majority of populations are outside any protected territories, thus it is recommended to check current abundance and area and create a botanical wildlife area in territories with concentrated populations.
