Status: VU. A very rare rocky species, narrowly endemic to a small section of the Naryn Canyon. A decorative plant.
Description. A semi-shrub with numerous ascending or erect, thin, simple stems 4-12 cm tall, covered with a dense layer of fine hairs giving a glaucous appearance. Stem leaves in two pairs, 0.5—1.5 cm long and 0.3—1.3 cm wide, broadly ovate, with a heart-shaped or rounded base, blunt, entire, glaucous-green due to dense fine hairs, thick, leathery. Bracts 0.5—1 cm long, 2.5—6 mm wide, broadly or narrowly ovate, almost membranous. Terminal inflorescences up to 2 cm long, ovoid-elongated, dense; lateral ones, located in the axils of the upper leaves, are shorter, about 1 cm. The calyx is short, hairy, and glandular, 2 mm long, of thin consistency, and does not significantly enlarge when fruiting. The corolla is small, about 1 cm long.

Cultivation. No information available.
Existing conservation measures. Listed in the Red Book of the USSR (1984), Red Book of the Kyrgyz SSR (1985). No special measures have been developed.
Recommended conservation measures. It is necessary to assess the status of populations and designate protected areas in places of highest concentration.

Status: VU. This dwarf semi-shrub petrophyte plant is a rare narrowly distributed endemic of Southern Kyrgyzstan. It populates rocky clefts in the canyon of the Naryn River in an area between Karakul town and the junction of the Karasu River (a right tributary of the Naryn). Flowering period: July - September, propagation is generative (by seeds). The number in nature is insignificant, and data on cultivation are absent. Limiting factors: the narrow distribution of the species and habitat destruction due to various human disturbances. The species is listed in the Red Book of the USSR and in the Red Book of Kyrgyzstan. It is necessary to create botanical wildlife areas in sites with abundant populations.
