As part of the reconstruction of roads along the Issyk-Kul coast, bicycle paths are planned to be built. This was reported by the information support department of the government apparatus.
The Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sapar Isakov, discussed issues related to the reconstruction of the Karakol – Balakchy road (southern shore of Lake Issyk-Kul) with representatives of the World Bank yesterday, December 12, within the framework of the Central Asia Road Improvement Program, Phase 3 (CARs-3).
The meeting was attended by the head of the World Bank office in the Kyrgyz Republic, Bolormaa Amgabazar, and the head of the World Bank transport project, Cordula Rastogi.
The head of the government emphasized that the reconstruction of the Karakol – Balakchy road will improve transport communication in the Issyk-Kul region, create conditions for sustainable tourism development in the country, and modernize the roadside infrastructure of the region.
Sapar Isakov paid special attention to the need for a modern bicycle path along the shore of Lake Issyk-Kul. This measure, according to the Prime Minister, will create comfortable and safe conditions for citizens who prefer bicycle tourism.
The head of the World Bank office in the Kyrgyz Republic, Bolormaa Amgabazar, emphasized that the construction of this road will contribute to increasing the country's tourist attractiveness. She supported the idea of building a bicycle path along the shore of Lake Issyk-Kul.
At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to conduct further detailed consultations on the implementation of the Central Asia Road Improvement Program, Phase 3 (CARs-3) in the Kyrgyz Republic.
Recall that on December 1, Sapar Isakov, in Sochi (Russian Federation), as part of his participation in the 16th meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), discussed with the Premier of the State Council of China, Li Keqiang, the construction of a ring road around Issyk-Kul.
