Every year, dozens of the best illusionists from around the world compete for this award. The Kyrgyz performers managed to snatch victory from their rivals with an ethnic act. "Silk Road" is performed in the Quick Change genre: the artists change 10 costumes on stage in a matter of seconds to ethnic music, manipulating fire, umbrellas, and scarves. Its first presentation took place earlier this year when Safin and Kramer went to conquer the Swiss "Minute of Glory" - Die grössten Schweizer Talente 2015, where all the jury members gave them the highest score – four "yeses." After that, the illusionists decided to aim for the "Trophy," which is one of the prestigious awards in the field of illusion: it is named after Jean-Eugène Robert-Houdin, who is called the "father of modern illusion."
- We are very pleased that our efforts have culminated in such a successful end to the year. This is a very important event for us. Among the strongest competitors and the jury were the most deserving and authoritative illusionists in the world. It was difficult to go out and perform in front of people who know more than we do! We tried to prepare a continuous act, without leaving the stage, and we succeeded: it lasts 10 minutes and consists of 50 elements. We believe "Silk Road" is performed exclusively in a national ethnic style. At least, I haven't seen anything like it, - Safin said at a press conference upon returning home with the victory. – It was very exciting to receive this trophy: after all, Robert-Houdin is one of the oldest illusionists in the world, known as the father of modern magic. And we hope this is not our last award!
It is worth noting that the Kyrgyzstanis have won the "Robert-Houdin Trophy" for the first time.
