At a press conference on October 24, the Deputy Head of "Bishkekglavarkhitektura," Aziret Akimov, stated that compliance with greenery standards in Bishkek leaves much to be desired. According to the standards, there should be at least 16 square meters of green space per resident, while currently, this figure is only 4.5–5 square meters, which is four times lower than the required level.

Akimov also noted that by 2050, the city's population could reach 1.9 million. In this regard, the new general plan provides for the creation of 1,500 hectares of green zones.

"Thus, we aim to bring the greenery indicators as close as possible to the established norms," he added.
