TOKOCHEV Kurmanbek Imangazievich

Architect. Born in 1947 in the city of Naryn, Kyrgyz SSR.
In 1972, he graduated from the Faculty of Urban Planning of the Moscow Architectural Institute. He began his creative activity in the general plan workshop of the "FrunzeGorProject" institute, where he worked from 1972 to 1984 in positions ranging from architect to chief project architect. In 1977, he served as the chief specialist-architect of the technical department of the "Kyrgyzkommünproject" institute.
Since 1984, he has headed the urban planning workshop at the State Design Institute "KyrgyzGiproStroy" as the workshop manager.
Member of the Union of Architects of the USSR since 1975.
Upon joining the design institute in 1972, he worked for a long time as part of a team on the detailed planning project for the center of the capital of Kyrgyzstan, including various fragments, nodes, and complexes. In particular, he was involved in the development of Soviet Street, Lenin Avenue, Dzerzhinsky Boulevard, and the core of the central part of the city of Frunze, among others.
Alongside urban planning works, in 1978 he participated in the placement of three point houses with developed public areas on the first floor along Soviet Street in the city of Frunze. This work gained wide recognition due to its memorable image, the expressiveness of which was achieved through the complexity of the volumetric-spatial structure of the entire complex and the inclusion of details that created an impressive plastic characteristic of the object.
Upon joining "KyrgyzGiproStroy," he worked on the general plans for cities and settlements in Kyrgyzstan, as well as detailed planning projects for their centers and residential areas.
He was awarded a bronze medal at the VDNH of the USSR (1977), diplomas, and a medal from the Union of Architects for the detailed planning project of the core of the central part of the city of Frunze (1979), and he is a laureate of the I All-Union Review-Competition "Best Project of 1982."
