NURGASIEV Samybek Bakasovich

Architect. Born in 1950 in the village of Chon-Kyzyl-Suu, Jeti-Oguz district, Issyk-Kul region of the Kyrgyz SSR.
Graduated in 1973 from the architectural and construction faculty of the Frunze Polytechnic Institute.
After graduation, he worked at the "FrunzeGorProject" institute until 1976.
Since 1976, he has been with the State Design Institute "KyrgyzGiprostroy," where he worked as the chief architect of the design workshop for resort and sanatorium buildings and complexes, currently serving as the chief architect of projects.
Member of the Union of Architects of the USSR since 1977.
In 1979, Samybek Nurgasiev won the competition for the design of the State Library of the Kyrgyz SSR named after V. I. Lenin in the city of Frunze, with the right to develop the project and construction of this building. The success of the young architect was the result of intense creative work in the preceding years. All of S. Nurgasiev's creative energy is directed towards the search for national uniqueness in the artistic image of the building. Through an organic connection with nature, Kyrgyz national artistic tradition combined with an understanding of the patterns of modern architecture development, he seeks ways to create national architecture. A vivid illustration of this is the library building. The volumetric-spatial structure of this building incorporates popular features of southern architecture, such as enclosed inner courtyards, summer terraces, and balconies, while the complex plastic development of the facade planes reflects the traditional attitude of Kyrgyz people towards artistic form.
He has been awarded diplomas from the Union of Architects of the USSR, the Central Committee of the Komsomol, and is a laureate of the VIII All-Union Review of Young Architects' Creativity, as well as receiving diplomas from the Central Committee of the Komsomol of Kyrgyzstan and the Union of Architects of the Kyrgyz SSR, the Central Committee of the Komsomol of the Tajik SSR, and the Union of Architects of Tajikistan.
