
SMIRNOV Yuri Nikolaevich
Architect. Candidate of Architecture. Born in 1950 in the city of Ulan-Ude, Buryat ASSR.
In 1971, he graduated from the architectural and construction faculty of the Frunze Polytechnic Institute.
After completing his studies, he was assigned to the State Design Institute "Kyrgyzgiprostroy," where from 1971 to 1975 he worked as an architect, senior architect, and head of the architectural group.
In 1976, he won a competition for the position of lecturer at the Department of "Architectural Design" of the Frunze Polytechnic Institute. He completed the correspondence course of graduate studies at the Zonal Scientific Research and Design Institute of Standard and Experimental Design in Tashkent (TashZNIIP). He delivers courses on architectural theory: "Environmental Protection," "Interior and Equipment of Buildings," a special course for foreign students, supervises course and diploma architectural design, and conducts research on issues related to the formation of resort architecture, environmental protection, and the search for new types of buildings and complexes in the conditions of the Kyrgyz SSR within the framework of the state budget themes of the faculty's research work.
Since 1982, he has been performing the duties of deputy dean of the faculty for work with foreign students. He has been awarded certificates of appreciation from the Ministry of Education of the republic.
Member of the Union of Architects of the USSR since 1974.

1971. Planning of a boarding house for 500 places in the village of Dolinka on Lake Issyk-Kul (co-authored with B. Umambekov);
1972. Planning layout of residential buildings in the village of Komsomol on Issyk-Kul; Project for the expansion of the "Issyk-Ata" sanatorium (co-authored with M. Umaraliev);
1973. Boarding house in the village of Kadji-Sai on Issyk-Kul for the "Tashselmash" plant (as part of a team);
1974. Boarding house in the village of Bosteri of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz SSR (as part of a team);
1975. House of political education in the city of Przhevalsk (co-authored with V. Mechkovsky); General plan scheme of the village of Velbetkan on the Baikal-Amur Mainline;
1976—1986. Supervision of diploma and course design in the architectural specialty.
