Sogonov Alexander Vasilyevich
Architect. Born in 1950 in the city of Osh, Kyrgyz SSR.
In 1973, he graduated from the architectural and construction faculty of the Frunze Polytechnic Institute. He works as the chief project architect at the "FrunzeGorProject" institute. Awarded a diploma from the Union of Architects of the USSR (1982).
Member of the Union of Architects of the USSR since 1977.
The projects and constructions of A. Sogonov impress with their imagery and inventiveness. The construction of the administrative building of KyrgyzAgroProm has been completed in V. I. Lenin Square in the city of Frunze. According to the authors' concept, it is meant to become a compositional accent of the central square of the republic. According to the project, this building serves as a gateway to the main esplanade, providing a visual and pedestrian access for residents to the mountains — the most significant natural dominant of the area.
Equally interesting is the bathhouse building on Toktogul Street at the intersection with Pravda Street in the city of Frunze. The spatial multi-plan composition organically expresses the complex functional content of this structure. The dimensions of the volumes, scale, character, and plasticity of the facades, as well as the silhouette of the domes, characterize it as an original, unique work that carries features of regional architecture.
A. Sogonov is a laureate of the zonal review of the creativity of young architects from the Central Asian republics and Kazakhstan (1979) — diploma of the I degree.
