SARBANOV Kytaybek Sarbanovich
Architect. Member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union since 1973. Honored Architect of the Kyrgyz SSR (1980).
Born in 1939 in the village of Bokonbaev, Ton District, Issyk-Kul Region of the Kyrgyz SSR.
After graduating from the Moscow Architectural Institute in 1964, K. S. Sarbanov, as a young specialist, was sent to work in the city of Frunze under the jurisdiction of the State Construction Committee of the Kyrgyz SSR. He worked as a senior architect, chief project architect, and chief architect of the "FrunzeGorProject" institute, while also serving as deputy director for architecture. After completing his studies, he worked in urban planning and building architecture for rural areas.
In 1971, K. Sarbanov, upon the recommendation of the State Construction Committee of the republic, was sent to the Issyk-Kul Region and appointed head of the regional department for construction and architecture — chief architect of the region.
Since 1976, K. S. Sarbanov has been the chief architect of the "FrunzeGorProject" institute, where he has done extensive work on the design and development of the capital of the Kyrgyz SSR. His projects include interesting structures such as the complex of boarding school No. 5, a closed swimming pool for the Frunze House-Building Combine, a 9-story dormitory for the "Kyrgyzavtomash" plant, and several other buildings.
Since 1984, he has worked as an acting associate professor at the Department of Architectural Design of the Frunze Polytechnic Institute, and since 1985, he has been the dean of the architectural faculty.
Awarded a Certificate of Honor from the Supreme Council of the Kyrgyz SSR.
Member of the Union of Architects of the USSR since 1968.
K. S. Sarbanov combines his creative activities both in the project institute and in the university with work in the system of the Artistic Fund of the Kyrgyz SSR. The monuments he created to V. I. Lenin in the city of Naryn and to fallen soldiers in the village of Jany-Jere are characterized by great conciseness and simplicity of design. For the 40th anniversary of Victory, a monument to Marshal I. S. Konev was erected in Almaty based on his design. He has written over 100 articles on architecture and urban planning issues for the Kyrgyz Soviet Encyclopedia, where he is a member of the editorial board for the section "Architecture and Art."
As part of a delegation from the Union of Architects of the USSR, he visited the People's Republic of Hungary and attended the XIII Congress of the International Union of Architects in Mexico (Mexico City, October 1978).
