In accordance with the new master plan for the capital of Kyrgyzstan, the creation of a southern bypass road is planned, which will become a key element in the transport system of Bishkek. This was stated on October 27 in an interview with AKIpress by Aziret Akimov, the first deputy head of the municipal enterprise "Bishkekglavarhitektura."

According to Akimov, the route of the new bypass road has already been developed, and there are investors ready to start implementing this project. He noted that this construction will provide a closed scheme for external transport, which will allow for the rerouting of transit flows outside the city.

“The creation of this road will completely close the transport network around Bishkek. All transit passing through the capital will be regulated and redirected via the ring road,” explained the deputy head of "Bishkekglavarhitektura."

Additionally, Akimov noted that construction of three multi-level interchanges is actively underway on the northern bypass road to improve capacity and relieve the main highways. “The southern bypass road will also include several multi-level interchanges, which will ensure efficient movement of transit traffic and uninterrupted functioning of the entire bypass system,” he added.
The future southern bypass road will begin at Mikhail Frunze Street in the area of the village of Kozhomkul and will pass through a connecting street that links the village of Chon-Aryk and the Ala-Archa gorge. It will then cross the Bishkek—Koy-Tash—Issyk-Ata resort road and end outside the city of Tokmok, connecting with the Bishkek—Balykchy—Naryn—Torugart highway.
