At the same time, a lane for public transport will be preserved
According to information about the new general plan for Bishkek, a part of Kyiv Street will be transformed into a pedestrian zone.
This concerns the section from Beyshenalieva to Jusup Abdrakhmanov, where a pedestrian zone is planned to be created. It is important to note that a dedicated lane for public transport, including a tram line, will be left.
The Deputy Chief Architect of the capital, Aziret Azimov, previously reported on plans to create two tram lines in Bishkek. The first phase involves the construction of about 30 kilometers of tram tracks.
“Trams will start operating from the new Azattyk Arena stadium, passing through various neighborhoods and moving towards the city center. The lines will circle the center and follow the streets of Jibek Jolu, Shabdan Batyr, Fuchik, Sadyrbaev, and Akhunbaev,” Aziret Azimov clarified.
The dates for the start of construction of the tram lines will be determined after the final approval of the new general plan for Bishkek.
