Currently, the capital has 25 hospitals, both republican and municipal, with a total designed capacity of 7,239 beds. The projected need for hospitals by 2050 was calculated based on the following normative indicator: 13.47 beds per 1,000 population. Thus, by the specified year, 25,900 beds will be required.
The general plan provides for the location of the following facilities:
- Nine hospitals in different districts of the city: two each in the Lenin and October districts, one in the Sverdlov district, and four in the Pervomaisky district, including the airport area and the former village of Ozyornoye.
- National Center for Traumatology and Orthopedics, located at 206 Krivonosov Street;
- Maternity Hospital No. 1 at 40 Usenbaev Street;
- Medical cluster.
Thus, by 2050, Bishkek will have about 37 hospitals with a total capacity of more than 25,900 beds.
In addition, the city has 23 outpatient polyclinic facilities that serve the population and have a designed capacity of 9,250 visits per shift. The calculation of the need for such facilities by 2050 was made based on a normative indicator of 18 visits per 1,000 people.
Need for outpatient polyclinic facilities:
| Name | Existing state | Normative need by 2050 year, thousand. visits per shift | |
| facilities | thousand. visits per[b] shift | ||
| Lenin District | 7 | 2.78 | 11.20 |
| October District | 4 | 1.25 | 10.72 |
| Pervomaisky District | 6 | 2.31 | 6.96 |
| Sverdlov District | 6 | 2.92 | 5.69 |
| Total for Bishkek | 23 | 9.25 | 34.56 |
According to the plan, approximately the following will be organized in the capital:
- 14 outpatient polyclinic facilities in the Lenin District with a capacity of over 8.42 visits per shift;
- 16 facilities in the October District with a capacity of over 9.47 visits per shift;
- 8 facilities in the Pervomaisky District with a capacity of over 4.64 visits per shift;
- 5 facilities in the Sverdlov District with a capacity of over 2.77 visits per shift.
Thus, about 42 outpatient polyclinic facilities will be created in Bishkek, with a total designed capacity of over 25,300 visits per shift. By 2050, the total number of such facilities in the capital is expected to reach approximately 65 units with a total capacity of over 34,560 visits per shift.
