Currently, there are 118 municipal preschool institutions operating in Bishkek, as well as 2 departmental ones, which can accommodate a total of 20,000 children, with a designed capacity of 11,000 places.
The calculation of the need for places for children in municipal preschool educational institutions by 2050 is based on the following data:
- normative provision — 53 places per 1,000 residents (provided that 85% of children aged 2 to 5 years are provided with places);
- accessibility of facilities — 300 meters.

According to the new master plan, Bishkek plans to create:
- 105 kindergartens with a total capacity of over 29.3 thousand places in the Lenin District;
- 120 kindergartens with a capacity of over 33.5 thousand places in the October District;
- 85 preschool institutions with a total capacity of over 23.9 thousand places in the First May District;
- 61 kindergartens with a capacity of 17 thousand places in the Sverdlov District.
Thus, by 2050, there will be about 410 municipal kindergartens in Bishkek with a total designed capacity of over 101.8 thousand places.
