Currently, the capital has seven local emergency medical service stations (substations) that can simultaneously serve 49 vehicles.
The general plan project includes the creation of the following new stations:
- four stations in the Lenin district with a design capacity of over 50 vehicles;
- three stations in the Oktyabr district, each of which will have more than 45 vehicles;
- four stations in the Pervomaysky district with more than 18 vehicles;
- two stations in the Sverdlov district, with a design capacity of over 30 vehicles.
As a result, according to the general plan, about 13 new emergency medical service stations will be added.
Thus, by 2050, there will be 20 emergency medical service stations operating in Bishkek with a total capacity of over 192 vehicles.
It was previously reported that there are between 40 and 42 round-the-clock emergency medical teams operating in Bishkek. However, considering the expansion of the service area due to the administrative-territorial reform, this number is clearly insufficient.
Taking into account the population growth and the new city boundaries, the actual need is about 150 teams, which means that currently less than a third of the required number is functioning.
