On August 16, a bike tour and bicycle race "Issyk-Kul Grand Prix-2014" will take place in Kyrgyzstan, aimed at promoting cycling and developing tourism in Kyrgyzstan. This sporting event is the seventh major cycling project organized by the hosts. According to their data, 180 participants are expected. It is noted that the event will be attended by the leadership of the government of the Kyrgyz Republic, representatives of large businesses in the republic, active youth from the International Public Foundation "Rosa Otunbayeva Initiative," cycling enthusiasts and professionals, as well as guests from abroad.
The route length is 95 km. This year, the bike tour will be conducted in the reverse direction; this route is easier and aimed at attracting cycling enthusiasts to familiarize themselves with the beautiful track of the southern shore. The start is in the village of Ton, the finish of the race is after 25 km, and the finish of the bike tour is in Balakchy. Traditionally, there will be men's, women's, group races, and a PRO category race. "Winners of the competition will receive valuable prizes," the organizers reported. During the event, participants will be provided with food and drinks. Additionally, for the safety of participants, road police and ambulance escorts will be organized, along with a technical support team for the repair and maintenance of participants' bicycles. Participants will receive commemorative t-shirts with the "Issyk-Kul Grand Prix-2014" logo.
