On November 15 and 16, the annual unofficial youth [un]conference JashtarCamp-2014 will take place in Bishkek, Batken, Jalal-Abad, Karakol, and Osh. This was announced by the event organizers, the Institute for Youth Development, and the public organizations Youth of Osh and Forward.
JashtarCamp-2014 is held with the support of the Ministry of Labor, Migration, and Youth of the Kyrgyz Republic, the youth program of the "Soros - Kyrgyzstan" Foundation, the youth program of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Kyrgyzstan as part of the State Strategy for the Implementation of Youth Policy in Kyrgyzstan until 2015.
This year, the event includes four thematic platforms: "Youth - Science, Culture, and Creativity," "Youth - Politics and Business," "Youth - Civic Participation (Ecology, Health, Gender Equality)," "Youth - 20th Anniversary of the Ratification of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child in Kyrgyzstan."
As part of the celebration of the anniversary of Kyrgyzstan's ratification of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and to spread information about children's rights, the camp organizers announced a competition among schoolchildren and students aged 13 to 18 for the best drawing on the theme "I have the right to...".
In addition, to engage youth in the development of Kyrgyzstan, a competition for social videos titled "I am changing the world around me!" is being held.
Winners of the competitions will be awarded diplomas and prizes at the closing ceremonies of JashtarCamp-2014 in Bishkek, Batken, Jalal-Abad, Osh, and Karakol. More detailed information about the participation conditions can be found on the official website www.jashtarcamp.org.
Social videos and drawings will be accepted from participants from all regions of Kyrgyzstan from October 14 to November 7, 2014, inclusive. Contest entries can be sent to the email: [email protected] or delivered to the address: Bishkek, Koenkuzova St., 17 (intersection with Isanova St.).

The first JashtarCamp took place in Kyrgyzstan in Bishkek on World Youth Day, November 10, 2009. Over 6,500 representatives of civically active and creative youth from Kyrgyzstan have participated in JashtarCamp over the past 4 years.
