Kyrgyzstan has submitted an initiative to the Eurasian Economic Commission requesting an exemption from import customs duties on 15,000 electric vehicles in 2026. This information was posted on the official website of the EAEU.

This measure in the field of customs regulation aims to reduce carbon dioxide emissions and improve the environmental situation in cities.

At the recent forum "Business, Ecology, and Sports - Ak-ilbirs 2025," held in Bishkek, the development of environmentally friendly transportation in the country was also discussed. The General Director of a company that supplies electric vehicles and charging stations, Hanchoro Murzaliev, emphasized the importance of electric vehicles for the ecological progress of Kyrgyzstan.

He noted that his goal is to make it possible for Kyrgyz citizens to travel by electric vehicles throughout the country.

According to him, internal combustion engine vehicles harm the environment, while electric vehicles can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 70 percent.

Hanchoro Murzaliev also mentioned that there are over 40,000 electric vehicle owners in the country who use an app to find charging stations.

It is worth noting that in 2025, the quota for duty-free import of electric vehicles, set at 10,000 units, has already reached its limit.

Additionally, Hanchoro Murzaliev shared plans to install solar panels along with charging stations at the eco-post "Enilchek."
