On October 24, a celebration of the Day of Workers in Automobile Transport and Road Management took place in Bishkek, as reported by the press service of the city administration.
At the event, outstanding employees of the capital's transport services were recognized and received Honorary Certificates and letters of gratitude from the city administration and the Department of Transport and Development of Road Transport Infrastructure.

The mayor, Aibek Junushaliev, highlighted significant achievements in public transport: “Over the past three years, with the support of President Sadyr Japarov, 1,000 new gas buses were purchased from China, allowing for the replacement of more than three thousand old minibuses. Additionally, with the help of international partners, 120 electric buses were procured and 85 charging stations were installed, while bus depots No. 1 and No. 2 underwent complete renovation.”

Currently, more than 1,500 public transport units serve the residents of Bishkek daily. In the coming months, the arrival of another 95 new 12-meter Yutong buses is expected. About 3,500 people work in this sector, of which 2,500 are drivers.

Special attention is also being paid to the development of road infrastructure. This year, a major overhaul of 125 streets and sidewalks on 38 streets is planned. So far, work has been completed on 51 streets, and more than 20,000 linear meters of sidewalks have been restored. Additionally, the construction of four bridges is underway, one of which has already been put into operation.
