The forecasts are explained by both natural and migratory increases in population.
“By 2050, the population is expected to reach 1 million 920 thousand. The number of working-age citizens will increase by 292 thousand, reaching 1 million 179 thousand. Employment will rise from 593 thousand to 943 thousand people, creating 349 thousand new jobs and helping to reduce the unemployment rate and the number of people not participating in economic activity,” the document states.
Moreover, the active economic development of the agglomeration will contribute to an increase in its residents, and in the future, the total population may reach 2.5 million people.
